I had the honor of working
with Col. Lakner for about five years when we both worked for the Bell Telephone Company of Pennsylvania in Altoona Pa.
Our offices were at 3615 Beale Avenue. Fred was a Construction Foreman for the Altoona District, and I was a Claims
Represenative for 13 Counties. Fred was highly respected as a war hero. Look around, you never know who is walking
among you. I was fortunate to know Fred, and a few other war heros. We would not be speaking English now if it
were not for them.
