Have a motorcycle? On a hot day, it's a great
ride through the woods from Lock Haven up to Renovo and down through strip mine country to Black Moshannon... or anywhere through Sproul State Forest.

Pennsylvania CCC History
Civilian Conservation Corps Clinton County Pa CCC Camps
I recently got interested in the CCC program,
so I added the above links (2013). I wonder if CCC would be a good idea today, with so many people out of work?
Does that make me a liberal, or socialist, or something? When I was young, I visited State Camp several times, got to
go in the cabin and up in the fire tower a couple times. My Mom's relative was the forest ranger there for years.
I can't remember his name. I wonder if was Billet? Just can't remember. And I remember that my great uncle
Bill Stoddart came to Clinton County from Philadelphia and joined CCC, but I don't remember which camp he was located at.
That's how he met my Aunt Hazel. I'm not sure if this list for Clinton County is complete.

I worked for the County in the '60's,
both as a Corrections Officer at the jail on Church Street, and as a Deputy Sheriff, making bench warrant arrests, taking
prisoners to Court, taking them to Danville for psychological evaluations, trustee work details, etc. Jack Boyle
was the Sheriff then. It was a good experience. I've never been in the new jail in Wayne Township . . .
